Fee scholarships to the University Child Care Center are available to those with financial needs.
The following criteria will be used by a Scholarship Committee made up of Board Members and UCCC parents to select those to receive a scholarship:
The family must be enrolled in the U.S. Department of Agriculture Child and Adult Care Food Program. The family must complete the scholarship application and must submit a copy of their previous year?s tax return. The application will require voluntary provision of information about whether the family includes a single parent in school or both parents in school, the work status of the parent(s), a statement of goals, and a statement of specific circumstances and specific needs. The family must show proof of ineligibility for state Child Care Assistance through the Missouri Department of Social Services, such as a denial letter from the Missouri Department of Social Services or the center must have received a Child Care Assistance authorization letter from the Missouri Department of Social Services.
The annual USDA Income Eligibility Guidelines will be used to determine who is eligible for a scholarship and for what amount. A family qualifying for the "Free Food" subsidy may receive a fee scholarship not to exceed 50% of weekly child-care fees. A family qualifying for the "Reduced Food" subsidy may receive a fee scholarship not to exceed 35% of weekly child care fees. Families who are approved for state Child Care Assistance may receive a fee scholarship not to exceed 25% of their weekly child care co-pay. However, application alone does not necessarily mean that a subsidy will automatically be granted; applicants must acknowledge that the grant(s) making the scholarship available varies from year to year, and the number of applicants vary year to year; receipt of prior scholarship funds does not guarantee an applicant continued receipt of those funds in the future; additionally, the director and Board of University Child Care Center maintains sole discretion on distribution of the scholarship funds, and applicants cannot rely upon continued receipt of scholarship funds regardless of past experience or history. Preference is given to students of Missouri State University.
Families who receive a scholarship are required to reapply and submit required documentation at the start or prior to each Fall Semester.
The family must complete and submit a separate application for the fee scholarship:
